GEOTECHNICAL STABILITY EXHIBIT <br /> There are no buildings or any structures outside the permit area which could be affected by the <br /> excavation. Sufficient buffers will be maintained to neighboring property lines. <br /> Since the permanent condition of the slopes will be a combination slope that will be partially <br /> saturated, a geotechnical analysis will be conducted using GALENA software. The entire mining <br /> operation takes place in sand and gravel of a mixed grain size. Using the Table 2.5 found in the SME <br /> Mining Reference Handbook3, the qualities of this material are a friction angle of 45 degrees, no <br /> cohesion,and a unit weight of 110 lbs/cf. These material properties, and a phreatic surface located at <br /> 7585' of elevation,are used to evaluate the slope stability of the final slope within the reclaimed pond <br /> of the expansion area.
