The ditches along the paved portion of the haul <br />road were clear of debris and functioning as designed. There were only a couple of points along this portion that <br />were transporting a small amount of water. The inlets and outlets of the culverts along the paved portion of the <br />haul road were clear of any blockages and there was a minimal amount of sediment near these sections of the <br />culverts. The ditches along the unpaved portion of the haul road were in good repair and functioning as designed. <br />There were no erosional issues noted. Culverts along this section of the road we re clear of debris. <br /> <br />There are six sediment ponds at the Bowie No. 2 Mine: Pond B, Pond C, Pond D, Pond F, Pond J and Pond K. All <br />six of the ponds were visited during the inspection. Details about each individual pond are given below. <br /> <br />- Pond B: <br /> Pond B was holding a small pool of water at the time of the inspection. There was not enough water <br />impounded in the pond to reach the level of the spillway. The embankments of the pond were stable and well <br />vegetated. There were no indications of erosion. <br /> <br />- Pond C: <br /> Pond C was nearly dry during the inspection. There was no water flowing into the pond. The embankment <br />was well vegetated and s table. There were no erosional features identified. <br /> <br />- Pond D: (Photo 2) <br /> Pond D had a small puddle of water held in it. The embankmen ts of the pond were in good repair and well <br />vegetated. There were no erosional issues identified. <br /> <br />- Pond F: (Photo 3) <br /> The pond was holding water at the time of the inspection. There was no discharge from the pond. The <br />embankments were well vegetated and there was no indication of instability. There were no erosional features <br />noted. <br /> <br />- Pond J: <br /> There was a small amount of water impounded in the pond during the inspection. The level of water had not <br />reached the spillway and there was no discharge. The embankment for the pond was stable and well vegetated. <br />There were no erosional issues. <br /> <br />- Pond K: (Photo 4) <br /> Pond K was dry. The embankments of the pond were well vegetated and there were no erosional features <br />identified. The pond was stable.
