The permit revision includes approximately 590.6 acres <br /> of Ute Mountain Ute surface contiguous with existing lease COC-62920, as well as formatting <br /> changes and operational updates since the previous permit revision approved on September 9, <br /> 2010. OSMRE provided deficiencies to GCC on September 19, 2017. The deficiency responses <br /> identified have been resolved and verified, completing the technical review stage. <br /> Next Activities <br /> A draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact <br /> (FONSI) for the lease modification, permit revision, and permit renewal have been released. The <br /> Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and OSMRE are preparing the final EA. Once the EA is <br /> final, OSMRE and BLM will complete their decision documents including a signed FONSI. <br /> OSMRE will prepare a Federal Coal Mine Plan decision document to be signed by the Assistant <br /> Secretary of Land Minerals (ASLM). <br /> Decision documents are being prepared for(1) the Federal Coal Mine Plan, (2) the Significant <br /> Revision, and (3) the 2012 and 2017 Permit Renewals which were placed on Administrative <br /> Delay pending the EA finding.
