Case Narrative
Client: Norwest Corporation TestAmerica Job ID: 280-100637-2
Project/Site: Colorado Springs Transit
ID: 280-100637-2
L-.,oratory: TestAmerica Denver
Narrative
CASE NARRATIVE
Client: Norwest Corporation
Project: Colorado Springs Transit
Report Number: 280-100637-2
With the exceptions noted as flags or footnotes, standard analytical protocols were followed in the analysis of the samples and no
problems were encountered or anomalies observed. In addition all laboratory quality control samples were within established control
limits, with any exceptions noted below. Each sample was analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limit within the constraints of
the method. In some cases, due to interference or analytes present at high concentrations, samples were diluted. For diluted samples,
the reporting limits are adjusted relative to the dilution required.
Calculations are performed before rounding to avoid round-off errors in calculated results.
All holding times were met and proper preservation noted for the methods performed on these samples, unless otherwise detailed in the
individual sections below.
:I PT
.amples were received on 08/25/2017;the samples arrived in good condition, properly preserved and on ice. The temperatures of
the coolers at receipt time were 1.70 C and 3.40 C.
Please note: the sample labels for sample LTC-1 sampled at 1300 however the chain of custody lists sample time of 1150; and the
sample label for sample LTC-2 at 1150;the chain of custody states the sample time 1300. Per the client the sample bottle labels have the
correct sample time. The chain of custody was corrected. Client was notified 08/28/2017.
GC Semivolatiles(Method 8015B)
The method 8015B required MS/MSD could not be performed, due to insufficient sample volume. Method precision and accuracy have
been verified by the acceptable LCS/LCSD analysis data.
No additional analytical or quality issues were noted, other than those described above or in the Definitions/Glossary page.
TOTAL RECOVERABLE METALS(Method 200.7/200.8)
Lead was recovered outside the QC limits, biased high, in the Initial Calibration Verification (ICV)standard. This is an indicator that data
may be biased high. As no detectable concentration of Lead is present in the associated samples, corrective action is deemed
unnecessary.
No additional analytical or quality issues were noted, other than those described above or in the Definitions/Glossary page.
GENERAL CHEMISTRY-VARIOUS
The accuracy and precision of the Total Phosphorus MS/MSD performed on a laboratory generated sample could not be reliably evaluated,
as the concentrations present in the parent sample were 4 times greater than the matrix spike concentration. The acceptable LCS
analysis data indicated that the analytical system was operating within control;therefore, corrective action is deemed unnecessary.
No analytical or quality issues were noted, other than those described above or in the Definitions/Glossary page.
TestAmerica Denver
Page 4 of 30 9/6/2017
