A 1111411-sti . , Tr ansit Mix Concrete Co.
The affected lands area includes approximately 239 acres. The majority of this disturbance will
occur within the Rock outcrop-Coldcreek-Tolman complex with limited topsoil. Based on a topsoil
salvage rate of six inches, approximately 193,000 bank cubic yards (bcy) will be salvaged and
stockpiled for use during reclamation. This is further discussed in Exhibits D and E of this
application.
In order to address suitability of topsoil, a sample of available topsoil within the pit area was taken
and analyzed for the following constituents:
- Arsenic, extractable (AB-DTPA)
- Boron, extractable
- Calcium, extractable
- Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC)
- Iron, extractable
- Magnesium, extractable
- Manganese, extractable
- Molybdenum, extractable
- Potassium, extractable
- Selenium, extractable
- Sodium Adsorption Ratio
- Sodium, soluble (Sat. Past)
- Soil Analysis
- Acid Generation Potential (calc on Sulfur total)
- Acid Neutralization Potential (calc)
- Acid-Base Potential (calc on Sulfur total)
- Coarse fragment
- Conductivity
- Organic matter
- pH
- Solids, percent
- Texture by hydrometer
- Wet chemistry
- Nitrate as N, extractable (KCL)
- Nitrate/nitrite as N, extractable (KCL)
- Nitrite as N, extractable (KCL)
- Phosphorus, extractable (AB-DTPA)
Based on the results of the sampling, the soil is determined to be suitable topsoil providing the
nutrients necessary for growth media. As such, Transit Mix does not anticipate that soil
amendments will be necessary during reclamation efforts. The sampling results are attached.
Hitch Rack Ranch Quarry Permit Application
October 3,2017 1-3
