' . `Z' ii, i.
• Water demand at the site will be limited to sanitary uses in an office building and dust
suppression of the processing facilities and quarry roads. The proposed water source for these
water uses is water purchased from Colorado Spring Utilities that will be trucked to the site daily.
Local ground and surface water sources will not be developed for water supply.
1.3 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This report provides a hydrogeologic characterization of the Little Turkey Creek watershed area
with specific reference to potential hydrologic impacts associated with the HRR quarry
development. It expands on earlier technical memorandums from Bishop-Brogden Associates
(BBA)that were developed for a mining permit application submittal in 2016. This report refines
hydrogeologic interpretations based on new geologic, potentiometric and water quality data
obtained from a field drilling, facility installation, and monitoring program conducted during the
summer of 2017.
In order to put the hydrogeologic characterization in the proper context, a review of the
climatological, geologic and hydrologic setting of the Little Turkey Creek watershed, and the
HRR area in particular, is included. Based on this characterization, an assessment of the
hydrogeologic impacts of the HRR mining operation has been made.
TRANSIT MIX-HITCH RACK RANCH
HYDROGEOLOGY AND IMPACT ANALYSIS
1-4
