Seeds have barbs like Velcro and will cling to ani- <br /> mals, clothing, and machinery. Houndstongue is poisonous and can be <br /> lethal to livestock. <br /> Identification: <br /> • Flowers: Reddish-purple with 5 petals and 5 soft, hairy sepals. <br /> Slightly drooping from densely clustered panicles. <br /> • Leaves: Lance or oblong-shaped, with a smooth edge and no teeth <br /> or lobes.
