The ispection was conducted by <br />Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). Rob Zuber of the Division was <br />present on the 19th and 20th. Basil Bear of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) was also present for the inspection. The <br />weather was clear all three days and in the mid 70’s. The ground conditions were dry. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the Bowie No. 1 Mine are located at the mine office on the Bowie No. 2 Mine. The <br />records were well kept and in good c ondition. For more details, please see the Availability of Records Form <br />attached at the end of this report. <br /> <br />BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> In August of 2017 six of the sediment ponds at the Bowie No. 1 Mine were backfilled and regraded. <br />Binwall Ponds 1 through 4, the Gob Pile Pon d and the ROM Pond were included in the Phase I request for SL-6. <br />More details on these reclaimed sites are included in the Hydrologic Balance section of this report. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> Evidence of a bear was seen at the loadout. A peach with a fresh bite mark was found on the way to the <br />train trestle.
