Stormwater Management Plan
Non-stormwater discharges are not anticipated to occur. No man -induced springs, landscape
irrigation, construction dewatering or concrete washout is anticipated. An uncontaminated spring
exists near the Idaho portal, and is referred to as the Idaho Spring. Historically, the volume of
water emanating from the Idaho Spring has been small (less than 0.5 cubic feet per second), and
flow from the Idaho Spring discharges to the La Plata River.
Receiving Waters:
The La Plata River is a perennial river whereas the Little Deadwood Gulch, which drains the
permit area, is an ephemeral tributary to the La Plata River. Little Deadwood Gulch drainage
discharges in response to snow melt and thunderstorm runoff events directly into the La Plata
River.
Underground storm water and sewer drain (piping) systems will not be constructed on site.
9. Wetlands:
The U.S. Anny Corps of Engineers granted the operator coverage under 2008 Nationwide Permit
No. 14. On March 4, 2008, the operator received notification of permit approval from the Corps
for impacts to adjacent wetlands during construction activities associated with the new access
road at the site. The operator has completed and is monitoring the progress of its wetlands
mitigation activities.
Site Map - see Attached Exhibit U, Attachment U-3, Figure U-1.
Stormwater Management Controls
1. Identification of Potential Pollutant Sources:
a. Disturbed soils and stockpiled soils
Currently there are no stockpiled soils on site.
Future operations will require temporarily (<180 days) stockpiling of run of mine rock
on existing mine benches, where illustrated BMPs will be implemented as outlined in
Appendix A
Sunrise Mining, LLC
Revised August 9, 2017
