Everist, Inc. respectfully submits to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, the
112c Annual Report form, and a site map for Carbon Valley Resource, Permit M-2001-017.
Check# 214614, dated 08/24/2017, for a total of$1,582.00, covers two annual fees of$791.00,
for Carr Gravel Resource (M-1988-048) and Carbon Valley Resource (M-2001-017). Both
annual reports and the check are being submitted together in one package.
Mining operations and production at the site were minimal this past reporting year, due to market
conditions. Processing is being done with portable equipment. We have continued mining in the
same area as last year (Area B), and are almost completely mined out and finished in this area. So,
reclamation work around the edges of this area has begun, backing and compacting slopes, and
backfilling settling ponds (Area A). Additional backfilling and sloping, along with topsoiling and
seeding will occur in this area in the coming year.
In October-2016, the DRMS approved a permit amendment and we added 56.4 acres to the permit
area (Area C). In March-2017, the permit area change was approved by the Town of Firestone.
The site name remains the same. A copy of the updated Exhibit C-3, Mining Plan map is attached.
In late-August, we started breaking ground in the newly permitted area. About 20 acres have been
stripped of topsoil and overburden. The topsoil will be stockpiled, revegetated to prevent erosion,
and saved for future reclamation needs.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at 303-286-2247, or Imshults@lgeverist.com.
2ncrely,
Lynn Mayer Shults
Regulatory Manager
Attachments:
- Check 214614
- Carbon Valley 112c Annual Report
- Exhibit C-3- Mining Plan Map
CV-DRMS-AnnRpt-2017-Sep2017 docx
