The data recovery excavations were
conducted under a historic properties treatment plan (HPTP) developed
to mitigate the adverse effects to each site caused by the project as
determined by OSMRE, DRMS, and OAHP which is contained in Exhibit
5, Item 7.
As stipulated in the HPTP for mitigating both sites, the following
preliminary report presents the field work results prior to formal laboratory
and post -field analysis of the recovered material and the final technical
reporting. The presented information includes what was done, why it was
done, what was encountered, and initial impressions of the recovered
material. The report is to demonstrate to the OSMRE, DRMS, and OAHP
that the HPTP field work component has been completed, information
potential at the site has been exhausted, and Project construction work
can proceed at the locality.
Per the HPTP, a comprehensive data recovery technical report will be
completed and submitted per the HPTP within six months.
