Colorado Quarries, Inc.
270 South I e Street
Canon City, CO 81212
August 7, 2017
Mr. Elliott Russell
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Red Jasper Granite, Permit No. M-1982-200, Application for Permit
Amendment
Dear Mr. Russell,
This packet contains an amendment application for the Red Jasper Granite 110c
permit. The purpose of the amendment (AM) is to simplify the irregular permit
boundary, which will add 5.8 acres to the permitted area, to a new total acreage
of 9.8 acres. The original permitted area map was drawn as a 4 -acre oval, which
is difficult to mark on the ground, so we want to change the boundary to a
rectangle. We also feel that this larger -area will allow us better access to
excavate the outcropping granite in our permit, and a good buffer area, allowing
us to perform better final reclamation in the future. Besides the updated mining
and reclamation maps showing the proposed permit boundary, the updated
mining and reclamation plans are also included in this amendment packet.
All other exhibits remain the same and are not included herewith. Reference to
those original 1982 exhibits is made hereby, in the context of this amendment.
Enclosed please find the Construction Materials 110c Permit Amendment form,
plus a check for the AM application fee ($827.00).
The enclosed packet contains revised Exhibits C and D, the amended Mining
Plan and Reclamation Plan maps (Exhibits E) showing the proposed changes,
and proof of filing the public copy of this application with the county clerk.
Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bill Tezak
Colorado Quarries, Inc.
Enclosures
