Taaeesa Miroiroa iaC.
August 21, 2017
Jason Musick
Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
Denver CO. 80203
RE: Williams Fork Land Company
Notice of Intent No. X-2017-234-02
Coal Exploration Drill Hole Abandonment Report
Dear Mr. Musick,
RECEIVED
AUG 2 8 2011
DIVISION OF MINING AND SAFETY
ON
In accordance with Rule 4.07.3(3) of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for
Coal Mining, adopted in accordance with the Colorado Surface Mining Act, C. R. S. 34-33-101 et. seq. a
Coal Exploration Drill Hole Abandonment Report is being submitted for 4 drill holes (refer to attachment).
One drill hole was drilled at each site. A larger bit size was used to set surface casing if needed. Due to
unconsolidated sands and gravel, hollow -stem auger drilling was used for drilling and casing the holes
simultaneously. A smaller bit was used to rotary down to the core depth, if needed, and an even smaller
bit size was used to core continuously to the final depth of the drill hole. Water levels for each hole were
taken prior to abandonment. Each hole was immediately abandoned upon its completion.
Portland Type II cement, bentonite gel and water was used for grouting each hole. The grout ratio was:
for every 94 Ib. bag of Portland Type II cement there was 6 gallons of water and 5 lbs. of bentonite gel.
The densities for the grout material were 94 pounds per cubic foot for the Portland Type II cement, 62.4
pounds per cubic foot for water and 70 pounds per cubic foot of bentonite gel. The driller recorded the
amount of sealant that was pumped into each hole.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tonia Marie Perkins
Senior Mining Engineer
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824-4401
