<br /> <br />Public Notice <br /> <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, of the Colorado <br />Revised Statutes, hereby issues notice that on August 28, 2017, a minor revision application (MR-423) to <br />the West Elk Mine, Permit No. C-1980-007, operated by Mountain Coal Company, LLC, 5174 Highway <br />133, Somerset, CO 81434 was considered complete for the purposes of filing. Minor Revision 423 seeks <br />to permit the drilling of up to five shallow exploration holes in order to determine the characteristics of the <br />E-seam to the south of the current mine plan area. The holes will be rotary drilled to a depth of 400-700’, <br />and cased through the upper 50’ of unconsolidated material. Temporary roads will be 12’ wide, and total a <br />length of up to 1,500’. Up to four pads may be constructed, with an area of 1/4 acre each. All proposed <br />disturbance will be within the current permit boundary. The applicant is proposing additional surface <br />disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. All reviews and comment periods as <br />provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this date of filing. <br /> <br /> <br /> Posted August 28, 2017 <br /> <br /> C-MR-03
