Danny Kipp was present during the
inspection. Skies were clear and temperatures reached the mid 70 degrees F. 2.62 inches of rain had fallen to date,
with a severe hail storm occuring 11 August. The hail storm stripped leaves from trees and pummeled grasses and
forbes to 4-6 inches tall. The operator had planned on vegetation sampling the week of August 17 in areas 28, 29,
31 and 32. Due to the damage to vegetation caused by the hail interim period sampling was postponed. A control
point was taken on the south east portion of the former permit. My measurement with a bad elf provided an
elevation value of 4838.65 feet, the mine measurement for this control point, #1111 is 4813.92 elev. As the permit
boundary has shrunk considerably with Phase III bond releases, there are no longer control points inside the permit
boundary
INSPECTION:
SIGNS AND MARKERS Rule 4.02
o Permit boundary markers appeared intact and
placed in adequate numbers throughout the
site.
o Topsand stockpiles observed were clearly
marked with identifying signs.
o Permit sign at entry had all required
information legibly displayed.
Photo]: Mine entrance sign.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 5
