Gunnison Ave, Suite 240 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501-5711 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: New Horizon North Mine (Permit No. C-2010-089) <br /> Permit Revision Application No. 2 (PR-2) <br /> Postmining Land Use Change on Garvey & Co Property <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 18, 2017, <br />an application to revise coal mining operations at the New Horizon North Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br /> <br />PR-2 is proposing to change the post mining land use on Garvey & Co Property. The topsoil <br />handling plan, revegetation plan and irrigation design will also be changed to accomodate the new <br />post mining land use. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the <br />area currently approved for disturbance. <br /> <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 2.5 miles Northwest of Nucla. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br /> <br />Portions of Sections 25 and 36, T 47 N, R 16 W, N.M.P.M. <br /> <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Nucla.
