Therefore, exposure of ground <br />water must not occur during or after mining operations. <br />® The proposed operation will consume ground water by: ® evaporation, ® dust control, <br />reclamation, ® water removed in the mined product, ® concrete batching, ❑ other: <br />The applicant has obtained a gravel pit well permit and approved substitute water supply plan for this <br />site. <br />® Any storm water runoff intercepted by this operation that is not diverted or captured in priority must <br />infiltrate into the ground or be released to the stream system within 72 hours. Otherwise, the <br />operator will be required to make replacements for evaporation. <br />COMMENTS: The La Poudre Pit is a sand and gravel mine located approximately 2 miles west of Windsor, <br />Colorado. The subject application seeks an amendment to add 32.4 acres to the 252 currently permitted acres <br />at the La Poudre Pit, for a total permitted area of 284.4 acres. The 32.4 acres are requested to be added to <br />resolve a violation concerning land area disturbed outside of the original permit boundary. <br />The additional land area includes an existing batch plant, and portions of three existing ponds. Depletions <br />associated with the batch plant and the full surface area of the ponds are included in the Poudre Pits <br />Aggregate Mine Substitute Water Supply Plan approved on January 24, 2017. The plan is currently valid <br />through December 31, 2017. <br />This office has no objection to the subject amendment to add 32.4 acres to the La Poudre Pit permit.
