The RMMP Peat Mine is
located in the Deer Valley Subdivision approximately 10 miles east of Alamosa on Hwy 160 and
1.3 miles south of Hwy 160; DRMS ID: M-1994-081.
It is the intent of RMMP to transport and deposit construction and demolition debris, specifically
concrete and asphalt, into the mined areas of the RMMP Peat Mine as inert fill. All concrete and
asphalt will be imported from the RMMP Deer Valley Construction and Demolition Debris
(CDD) site located on the northwest side of Meadowlake Blvd directly across from the RMMP
Peat Mine site.
CDPHE is requesting a letter from the DRMS that addresses the following:
• RMMP Peat Mine is a permitted mine with the DRMS
• DRMS approval for disposal of concrete and asphalt at RMMP Peat Mine
• An approved list of clearly identified types of waste permitted for disposal by the DRMS
at the RMMP Peat Mine
Please send copies of your letter to Eric Jacobs, CDPHE; Ron Barrier, RMMP Peat Mine and
RMMP Deer Valley CDD; and myself, Greg Lewicki and Associates. Thank you in advance for
your consideration, please do not hesitate to contact me with and questions or concerns.
