EXHIBIT L
RECLAMATION COSTS
7'hr, following information depicts a worse case scenario when it
would be most expensive to reclaim the site . This is an attempt
to set the bond so there is flexibility to operate the mine
without reevaluating the bond yearly. This reclamation cost
estimate in based on the assumption that there will be no more
than 11 . 90 acres + needing reclamation at any one time . This
will involve spreading 11, 500 cubic yards of soil on the
revegetation area . The remaining 28 . 07 acres will be industrial
area, roads, undisturbed area or lake area . While the plan is to
grade the final lake slopes as mining progresses we expect to
have no more then 350 linear feet of sloping that would need to
be done to complete reclamation . Due to the depth of the lake
this would involve pushing approximately 2015 . 2 cy of dirt into
the lake to create the 3 : 1 slope along the working face . No
additional material would need to be imported since the material
would come from the area above the working face as described in
the reclamation plan .
The amount of soil that will be re-spread averages 6 inches . Our
co:;t estimate to do all of the shaping and soiling in this cost
estimate is based on using a D-6T dozer for the cut/fill work and
for recoiling and a 140G motor grader to prepare the seedbed and
graded the industrial area . The actual equipment used by the
permittee may differ . The revegetation cost figure includes
grass seed, mulch, chemical fertilizer (ammonium nitrate &
superphosphate) and seeding costs . The mobilization number is
for a round trip from the Rocky Ford area (2 miles one way. )
Description Acres ±
Mining area Plant Site Totals
Recoiling 11 . 92 0 11 . 9
Revegetat=ion 11 . 92 C 11 . 92
Cradling & Shaping L1 . 92 10. 90 22 .82
Recoiling 11 . 92 0 11. 92
I,'a,-:e lenath 350 ft. 0
;u'../ri.11 Volume 5 .76 cy/lft
RF:c l l l n._3 c:epth 6 inches
62
