EXHIBIT I and J
SOILS AND VEGETATION
Soils Information
The information in this section was obtained from the natural
Resources Conservation Service web page . This site is in an area
where the general surrounding uses are commercial development ,
mining and agriculture . Mining began on the east part of the
site prior to 1965 and the west are was an industrial area that
contained a concrete batch plant and support facilities at one
time . This 38 . 38 acre area is highly disturbed and contains no
soil as described in the following information. Some topsoil was
salvaged and stored along the north side of the large lake and
that material will be used to resoil any Seedbed is that area is
redisturbed.
The soils information from the NRCS is very thorough but lacks
site specific information since most of the permit area has been
disturbed by activities that removed or destroyed most of the
topsoil that may have originally been on the site . A commitment
has been made to retain enough of the finer material or soil that
was stockpiled on the north side to complete reclamation around
on the above water areas around the lake . We estimate that we
can salvage enough to resoil the area with 6 to 8 inches since
the old Plant Site area will be graveled.
25
