MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D(CONT)
of the storm-water runoff questions arising from the Clean Water
Act . Isolation berms or ditches will be constructed within the
setbacks around the mine to prevent stormwater from entering or
leaving the site . No water will be discharged from the pit
unless done so under a CPDS permit and all stormwater will be
collected on the site and treated before being released if it
comes in contact with disturbed areas as required.
We have adequate water available to meet the requirements for
evaporative loss at the mine, see EXHIBITG . An application will
be made for a well permit to address the need for evaporative
losses associated with mining in the ground water table . It will
establish the amount of water needed for augmentation on all post
1981 lake area when mining ends .
MINING TIMETABLE
The continuing uncertainty of economic conditions in the con-
struction materials industry and personal needs preclude an
accurate forecast of demand during the life of the mine . This
estimated mining timetable is based on an average year and it is
expected that a specific year will vary widely from the average .
In most cases the stockpile areas cover the gravel that will be
mined so the acres of each are nearly the same . The total area
to be mined is 15 . 60 acres ± .
MINING TIMETABLE
ACRES + AVERAGE ANNUAL
MINING AREA YEARS PRODUCTION
TOTAL AREA MINED AREA TONS/YEAR
Plant Site 8-10 15 . 65 6 . 80 20 , 000
Northeast area 22-27 14 . 80 8 . 80 20, 000
Totals 30-37 30 .45 15 . 60
11
