SL -08: Approved February 8, 2016. This Phase I, II, III bond release on 56.12 acres <br />released $431,867.06 of reclamation liability. <br />As of July 2017, one bond release is pending: SL -09, requesting the release of 19.38 acres of <br />Phase I reclamation liability in the anticipated amount of $64,915.39. <br />3.1.8 Applicant Violator System <br />The Applicant Violator System (AVS) finding as of 9 July 2016 was "no violations." <br />The Applicant Violator System (AVS) finding as of 21 July 2017 was "no violations." <br />The Applicant Violator System (AVS) finding as of 2 August 2017 was "no violations." <br />The Division recommendations for all checks were "issue." <br />3.2 Description of the Environment <br />3.2.1 Maps <br />The Permit includes several maps: <br />o The Permit Area Map (Appendix A-1), shows the permit boundary and includes a legal <br />description of the site location. <br />o The Surface and Mineral Ownership Map (Appendix A-2), includes roads, sections, the <br />ownership boundary, and major drainages, including Ennis Draw to the east of the site. <br />o The Adjacent Property Owners Within One Mile map (Appendix A-3), is based on <br />United States Geological Survey (USGS), 7.5 -minute Topographic Map Quadrangles <br />Klug Ranch and Tampa. <br />3.2.2 General, Disturbed and Affected Area <br />The Keenesburg Mine is located approximately 4.5 miles north of Keenesburg, Colorado. The <br />legal description of the permit area is presented under paragraph 1.1 above. <br />Per the RN -07, Application, there are 225.55 acres remaining in the permit area, with <br />approximately 215.29 acres of approved disturbed area. As a surface mine, the Keenesburg <br />Mine's approved affected acreage equals its approved disturbed acreage. According to the 2016 <br />Annual Reclamation Report, approximately 435 acres have been disturbed over the life of the <br />mine with approximately 263.90 acres approved for Phase III bond release. <br />3.2.3 Resource to be Mined <br />Currently, there is no coal extraction activity at the site and none is anticipated. The open pits <br />were backfilled with mine waste rock and ash imported from the Trigen Colorado Steam and <br />Electric Plant in Golden, Colorado and reclaimed in accordance with the reclamation plan <br />5 <br />
