NTETRA TECH Archaeological Isolated Find — Field Recordation Report <br />Site No. tbd Temporary Resource No.: IF -13 County: Moffat <br />"Isolated Find" OF): <br />Wagon undercarriage, wood and iron components. <br />UTM Coordinates: <br />NAD 83, Zone 13: 254642mE / 4462565 mN <br />Elevation: Approximately 7000' MSL <br />Landowner: Private <br />IF Description: <br />Deteriorating wagon undercarriage comprised of iron, wood consisting of two axles (— 4' width), <br />wooden frame and/or supporting structures. Front axle has a large iron circular mechanism (32" dia) <br />with connecting hardware with 4 horseshoes attached. A partial tongue was found attached to front <br />axle. The components were found distributed across an area partially grown over and covered with <br />native vegetation and soils. The location is within the disturbance boundary of the Collom project. <br />Cultural affiliation: <br />Environmental Information: <br />Euro -American Time Period: late191h / early -mid 201h <br />century <br />Sediments are a residual, light brown sandy -silt with a low degree of angular cobble to small <br />boulder sandstone sized gravels. Vegetation consists of medium height sagebrush, assorted forbs <br />and grasses. Vegetative cover is approximately 70 percent. <br />National Register Recommendation: Not Eligible <br />The resource is not eligible under Criterion A because it cannot be associated with a major regional <br />event; Criterion B because it is not associated with an important person within regional or national <br />history; Criterion C because it does not exhibit the characteristics of a truly unique design, or that of <br />a master craftsman; and Criterion D because it does not contain significant information potential for <br />questions relating to pre -history and history.
