'Trujillo J 3 1 I <br />Environmental Protection Specialist +fltV1 (W OFRECLAmATIOIV <br />Division of Reclamation, Muung and Safety MININGANDS/� <br />1313 Shennan Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: Colowyo Coal Mine (Pertnit No. C-1981-019) 'Fechnical Revision No. 112 (IR -112) Provides as - <br />built information for the Temporary facilities Pond and Wilson Storage Pond (HC #67752) <br />Dear Mr. Trujillo: <br />Ale received your correspondence dated July 7, 2017 on July 11, 2017 initiating consultation with our <br />office under the State Register of Historic Places Act (CRS 24-80-1 et seq.) for the above referenced <br />undertaking. <br />\s the above referenced permit revision does not propose additional surface disturbance outside of the <br />currently approved area for disturbance, it is our opinion that a finding of no historic properties affected <br />is appropriate for the proposed undertaking pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(4)(1). <br />Should unidentified archaeological resources be discovered in the course of the project, work must <br />be interrupted until the resources have been evaluated in terms of the National Register eligibility <br />criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office pursuant to 36 CFR 800.13. Also, should the <br />consulted -upon scope of the work change please contact our office for continued consultation under <br />36 CFR 800. <br />We request being involved in the consultation process xvith the local government, which as stipulated <br />in 30 0 R 800.3 is required to be notified of the undertaking, and with other consulting parties. <br />.\ddinonal information provided by the local government or consulting parties might cause our <br />office to re-evaluate our eligibility and potential effect Findings. Please note that our compliance <br />letter does not end the 30 -clay review period provided to other consulting parties. <br />We thank you for the opportunity- to comment.
