State Hwy 67
Sedalia, CO 80135
Dear Mr.Robinson,
Please accept this as our proposal and scope of work for your May Day Idaho Mine Traffic Study. Our cost estimate
includes the following scope of work:
I)Data Collection:
a) Vehicle Characteristics-Using May Day Mine's anticipated vehicle traffic,assign FHWA(Federal Highway
Administration)Vehicle Types.
b) Using FHWA Vehicle Types-Generate Trip Generation expected for the site.
c) Standards Research—Relate Trip Generation numbers to Industry Standards for inclusion in the Traffic Study
report.
d)Road Inventories-Measure existing road characteristics,widths, surfacing,road conditions,etc.for access route to
the site.
e) Existing and Future Background Volumes-Field measurements of traffic volumes at the intersection of County
Road 124 and US Highway 160,using pneumatic traffic counting devices.Field measurements of traffic volumes at
the point where County Road 124 enters the US Forest, using pneumatic traffic counting devices.
f)Directional Distribution-as part of field measurements, traffic directional trends will be assessed.
II)Traffic Analysis:
a)Passenger Car Equivalents-Using data collected from Item I,compute Passenger Car Equivalents for the site trip
generation.(Passenger Car Equivalents are the standard measure for trip volumes).
b)Before and After 18K Equivalent Single Axle Loading(ESALS)-EASLS are the standard measure of the physical
impact traffic has on the highway.
c) Traffic Operational Analysis-Field measures of traffic turning behaviors and establishment of peak traffic
volumes am,pm, and mid-day.
d)Traffic Safety Analysis-Assessment of field measurements as they relate to the safety of the intersection.
Conflicting turning movements observed,etc.
e)Compliance to County Standards-Comparing field info with County design standards.
