Final Compensatory Mitigation and Monitoring Plan—Version 2.0 <br />Climax Mine Overburden Storage Facility Expansion (SPK-2013-00045) <br />March 2017 Bikis Water Consultants, a division of SGM Page 15 <br />The plantings will create a diverse wetland with multiple vegetation communities. The focus on <br />providing scrub shrub wetlands will facilitate use by songbirds and other wildlife. <br />Perennial Channels: Willows will be planted along the approximately 450 linear feet of perennial <br />channel created for the project (Figures 5a and 5b). <br />Transition Areas and Uplands: All transition areas (slope immediately adjacent to wetlands, but <br />not within wetlands) and uplands disturbed by the work will be revegetated using the seed mixes <br />shown in Tables 2a and 2b. These seed mixes have been used successfully at the mine. All <br />seeded areas will be mulched using certified weed-free straw mulch. <br />Table 2a. Transition Area Seed Mix(1)
