PERMIT#: M-2016-041
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: July 25, 2017
OBSERVATIONS
The Front Range Feed Lot Borrow permit is an 8 acre 111 permit that was issued in August of 2016 for a
roadway improvement project on Weld County Road 49. This permit was inspected by Eric Scott with the
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) as part of the Division's monitoring inspection program.
No permittee representative was present for this inspection.
The configuration of the approved permit area consists of a rectangular area with two extensions to the north for
access to and from the existing dirt road. The Division holds a financial warranty in the amount of$20,000.00
for this permit. Permit boundary markers as required by Rule 3.1.12 were observed during this inspection, and
are required to be maintained for the life of the permit. As noted on the first page of this report, the site
identification sign was missing and will need to be replaced by the corrective action due date.
As observed during the previous inspection, and since approved through TRO1, DRMS noted that most of the
existing disturbance was due to the fact that Ames construction has been utilizing this property for the main
highway project staging and work yard, in addition to a borrow area. Ames construction has utilized portions of
the permitted area, as well as the surrounding area, for a variety of activities associated with the overall
construction project including asphalt recycling, concrete washout, water truck filling, equipment parking, and
material storage. Mining for borrow material has been confined to within the approved permit boundary.
At this time, with the exception of the missing site identification sign, it appears that the corrective actions
required by the April 2017 inspection have been appropriately implemented.
Photographs taken during the inspection are attached, and no other issues were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Kyle Reinholt
Ames Construction, Inc.
18450 E.28th Ave.
Aurora,CO 80011
