DRMS personnel was <br />given 24-hour notice of the inspection and chose to accompany OSM. Jason Musick of DRMS accompanied the <br />inspection and accounted for this inspection as a partial coal inspection. Miranda Blomquist of Peabody Energy <br />accompanied the inspection. The weather was snowing and the site was wet during the inspection. Demolition <br />activities continue at the site with the removal of conveyor and facilities near the portal. No activities were active <br />during the inspection due to weather. <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): <br />An active AML project is on-going to extinguish a coal seam fire associated with historic mining. This activity is <br />not under regulation by the coal program. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />In order to access the active AML project, the DRMS IMP an existing mine road was widened to provide access <br />for heavy equipment. The IMP is assuming the reclamation responsibility to return this road to the original <br />configuration or permit the road as a permanent feature in its current state. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The structures in and around Portal 5a have been demolished with the material being stored within the currently <br />approved disturbance area at the portal. No off-site disturbance was noted at the time of the inspection. <br />The majority of the conveyor to the silo have been removed and were in place on the ground at the time of the <br />inspection. The remaining portion of conveyor and tube is in place over the Williams Fork River. The access to <br />remove this section is logistically difficult and may require additional permitting by the Division. A pad to <br />support equipment has been established within the currently approved disturbance area.
