PERMIT#:M-2017-022
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: July 21,2017
OBSERVATIONS
This was a pre-operation inspection conducted by Eric Scott for the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
(DRMS). DRMS met with permittee representative Rick Dunn at approximately 10:30 and proceeded to the
site area. The site will be accessed from the south side of county road 550 approximately 2 miles west of the
town of Gardner. The proposed permit area is currently rangeland, and an irrigation ditch flows through a
portion of the south part of the site as shown on the submitted maps (see attached photos). The required
notice posting was present on the fence adjacent to the highway as shown in the attached photo. The
following issue(s) were noted during this inspection and will need to be resolved prior to the approval date of
the permit.
1) Permit Boundary markers were not present. The permit boundary will need to be properly surveyed
and marked in the field, and proof of this submitted to DRMS before the permit can be approved and
issued.
Mr. Dunn also provided DRMS with a copy of the Phase I design drawings prepared by TZA Water Engineers
that detail the proposed reclamation design of the site to meet the post mining land use of developed water
storage.
No other issues were noted during this inspection, and DRMS left the site at approximately 11:15.
Inspection Contact Address
Rick Dunn/Scott King
Huerfano County Water Conservancy District
PO Box 442
LaVeta CO 81055
