Oblique aerial photographs were taken on July 17, 2017 and reviewed in the Division office by Jason <br />Musick of the Division on July 24, 2017. The aerial photographs were conducted in a manner which resonably <br />endrures the identification and documentation of the condition of the Deserado Mine. No potential issues were <br />identified within the photographs. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />The aerial photographs showed DP-1, PP-2, RP-2/3, RP-4, RP-5, RR-1, RR-2 SS-1, SS-2, and the dewatering <br />ponds #2. All pond embankments appeared stable and in compliance with no problems noted. There did not <br />appear to be any signs of substantial run-off to the ponds or throughout the site displayed in the aerial photographs. <br /> <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): <br /> <br />Due to the recent Dead Dog Fire, which started north of the town of Rangely and burned in to the permit areas and <br />near the coal overland conveyor, fire breaks were established on the west side of the slot storage building. This <br />area is a part of the approved disturbance area, so no additional disturbance is required to be reported. The area <br />will require reseeding. <br /> <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11 Drainage Control; Surface <br />Stabilization; Placement: <br /> <br />Refuse was graded and compacted at Refuse Pile – 2/3/4 and 5 at the time of the inspection.
