RE: McClane Canyon and Fruita Loadout Facility Biological Assessment and Addendum
#2 Corrections
Dear Ms. Repp:
This letter is to provide corrections and clarification language for the McClane Canyon Mine and
Fruita Loadout Facility Biological Assessment (BA) and the Addendum #2. There are three
issues that were identified subsequent to USFWS Biological Opinion (BO) dated November 16,
2011 (ES-6-RO-95-F-001-GJ418, TAILS 06E24100 -2012-F-0009, 65413-2011-B-0022). None
of the corrections and clarification language would require revisions to the BA conservation
measures. Also, Mr. Terry Ireland (USFWS-Grand Junction) was contacted regarding this matter
and he gave verbal approval that no further documentation, other than this letter, would be
required for the corrections and clarification language.
The following information shows the corrections and clarification language:
1. The BA (cover letter and page 1) — states that "McClane Canyon Mine (Mine), owned
and operated by CAM -Colorado, LLC (CAM) in Garfield County, provided 280,000
tons of coal per year to the Cameo Power Plant located in Mesa County."
Correction: McClane Canyon Mine is owned by CAM Colorado, LLC, but is operated by
McClane Canyon Mining, LLC. The BA cover letter and page 1 sentence should read:
"McClane Canyon Mine (Mine), owned by CAM Colorado, LLC and operated by
McClane Canyon Mining, LLC (CAM) in Garfield County, provided 280,000 tons of
coal per year to the Cameo Power Plant located in Mesa County."
2. Addendum #2 (page 2) to the BA (CAM -Colorado, LLC, McClane Canyon Mine
Expansion Project and Fruita Loadout Facility) incorrectly states "The three sediment
