We have altered the section on the Utes somewhat, have
added a section on the early fur trappers/explorers/settlers of the
area, and have made the changes requested concerning the selection of
areas surveyed and the probability of finding additional cultural
• resources within the project boundary.
From the information which we gathered both at the Garfield.County
Clerk's Office and from alocal informant, Firs. Gladys Hitchborn, it
appears that historic site 5GF743 (at the mouth of Munger Canyon) is
not eligible to the National Register of Historic Places.
If you have any changes/corrections or any questions, please feel free
to call me.
Sincerely,
Carl E.
