2.05.3 <br />(4) Ponds, Impoundments and Diversions <br />(a) There will be one sediment pond constructed forthe mine facilities. The pond <br />will be a typical sediment pond, capable of containing the run-off from a 10 - <br />year event with a spillway system designed to handle the peak flow <br />generated by the 25 -year storm event. Dewatering will be through the <br />primary spillway. <br />(i) General Drainage Plan <br />The sediment pond and the general drainage plan for the site were prepared <br />under the direction of Tammerin Stover -Bishop, Colorado Professional <br />Engineer, No. 43402. <br />A description of the pond is presented above. Figure 2.2-3 presents a detail <br />drawing of the pond. <br />The preliminary hydrologic and geologic information required to assess the <br />hydrologic impact of the structure are presented in the soils and vegetation <br />information in the permit. <br />No underground mining has occurred under any of the sediment ponds and <br />none is anticipated. <br />(i)(E) Not applicable. <br />(ii) Detailed Design Plans <br />(ii)(A) The sediment pond and the drainage plan for the site were prepared under <br />the direction of Tammerin Stover -Bishop, Colorado Professional Engineer, <br />No. 43402. <br />(ii)(B) The following design specification for the sediment ponds is adapted from <br />Rule 4.05.9(7). <br />The embankment foundation area shall be cleared of all organic matter, all <br />surfaces sloped no steeper than 1 h:1 v, and the entire foundation surface <br />scarified. <br />PR -02 2.05-18- 10/12 <br />
