2.04.7 Hydrology Description
shown on Figure 4.2-2. The six alluvial wells were apparently sealed and
eight ground water monitoring wells were subsequently installed.
Groundwater monitoring wells GW -2, 4, 7 & 8 were sealed in 2007. GW -
10 was sealed in 2012.
Baseline alluvial wells shown in Tables 4.2-1 through 4.2-5 are not the
same wells as the GW wells currently being monitored. Baseline data for
the GW wells is shown for Table 4.2i. A typical well completion diagram
for the GW wells is shown in Figure 4.1-7.
Well GW -1 is 14.3 feet deep and monitors water in the alluvium of East
Salt Creek. As provided in detail in the AHR's, the static water level varies
with season and over the last five years (2007 - 2011) has averaged 12.5
feet in the first quarter, 10.7 feet in the second quarter, 9.0 feet in the third
quarter and 12.3 in the fourth quarter. Average PH varies from 7.3 to 7.7
and the average conductivity varies from 3840 to 7284 umhos/cm.
Well GW -3 is 85.5 feet deep and monitors water in the alluvium of East
Salt Creek below Munger Canyon. As provided in detail in the AHR's, the
static water level varies with season and over the last five years (2007 -
2011) has averaged 38.3 feet in the first quarter, 38.0 feet in the second
quarter, 37.0 feet in the third quarter and 38.4 feet in the fourth quarter.
Average PH varies from 7.1 to 7.5 and the average conductivity varies
from 4260 to 4560 umhos/cm.
Well GW -9 is 53.5 feet deep and monitors water in the alluvium of East
Salt Creek below the excess material stockpiles. As provided in detail in
the AHR's, the static water level varies with season and over the last four
(2008 - 2011) years has averaged 26.6 feet in the first quarter, and 26.0
feet in the second through fourth quarters. Average PH varies from 7.2 to
7.4 and the average conductivity varies from 8575 to 9163 umhos/cm.
Well GW -9 was installed in 2007 and therefore no data is available for the
well until water year 2008.
Water Quality Control Division requires the Operator to select points of
compliance. Points of compliance are defined as one or more points or
locations at which compliance with applicable groundwater standards
must be achieved. Monitoring well GW -3 will serve as the point of
compliance for the mining operations.
PR -02 2.04-18 03/13
