2.04.6 Geology Description
(3) Underground Mining
(a)
(i) Figure 2.1-5, Isopach map of the Total Mineable thickness of the
Cameo seam to be mined. Figure 2.1-6, Isopach Map of the Upper
Cameo Seam provides the thickness of the seam to be mined. Figure 2.1-
8 Overburden on Top of Upper and Total Cameo Seam shows the depth
of the seam. Figure 2.1-4 Generalized Columnar Section shows each
stratum of the overburden, and the stratum immediately below the lowest
coal seam to be mined.
(ii) Coal crop lines and the strike and dip of the coal to be mined are
shown on Figure 2.1-1 Mine Plan and Sequence Map. Geologic cross
sections of the proposed permit area are shown on Figures 2.5-2, 2.5-3
and 2.5-7.
(iii)
(A) Drill logs are summarized beginning on Table 2.1-3. Drill
hole data and geophysical logs are presented in Appendix G.
(B) Please refer to discussion beginning on page 4-13.
(C) Table 2.1-7 presents chemical analysis of the coal seam for
acid-forming or toxic -forming materials.
(D) Tables 2.1-4 and 2.1-5 present the chemical analysis of the
stratum immediately above and below the coal seam to be mined,
for acid-forming, toxic -forming, or alkalinity -producing materials.
(E) There are no clays or clay shales in the stratum immediately
above and below each coal seam to be mined that would pose a
problem to room and pillar mining.
PR -02 2.04-13 08/11
