Separation
of the surface and C layers can be accomplished by color. The surface
is characteristically dark while the C horizon is much lighter. Some
areas may have as much as 60 inches of dark material available for use.
Sn conclusion, the laboratory tests determined that all samples were
neutral in Ph, have Low electrical conductivity, and low SAR. These
soils will grow the most salt tolerant grasses and shrubs. The soil
at the Maxwell mine had a higher SAR which may affect some shrubs.
Native grasses should grow well on all soils tested.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
F'~
Lee A.
