Greg Lewicki And Associates, PLLC
11541 Warrington Court Phone: (303) 346-5196 Fax (303)-346-6934
Parker, CO USA 80138 C -Mail• infoolewidd.biz
June 5, 2015
Michael Stanley
Regulatory Specialist
Denver Regulatory Office
9307 S. Wadsworth Blvd.
Littleton, CO 80128-6901
Michael:
As we discussed, I have enclosed the information regarding the proposed crossing of the
Middle Fork of the South Platte River below Alma, Colorado.
The site is the Iocation of past gold placer mining and has been subject of a DRMS 110
permit in the past which utilizes an old crossing of the River. This crossing is shown in
Photo 1. This old crossing seems to work well since it has a base of rock with an
approximate D50 of 1-2 feet. Some smaller material has filled in the gaps. The crossing
operates well with minimal sediment moving downstream.
The landowner, who also operates a one man gold placer operation, has decided to
expand the operation to both sides of the River, and has submitted a new 112 application
to the Division of Mining Reclamation and Safety regarding this expansion. The
expansion of the pit area also requires a new crossing that is nearby the old one. Photo 2
shows the location of this proposed new crossing. This crossing will only be used by a
small rubber tired loader and a pickup truck. The use will be limited to 1-3 crossings per
week.
A General Location Map follows the photograph showing the location of the crossing in
plan view.
