Musick <br />l ,:nvironmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RECEIVED <br />jUL 0 3 2017 <br />Division of Reclamation, afety <br />Alining <br />Re: Deserado Mine (Permit No. C-1981-018), Technical Revision No. 71 (M-71) Return Shaft <br />RS -13L (HC #71162) <br />Dear Mr. Musick: <br />"Thank you for your recent correspondence dated June 19, 2017 (received by our office on June <br />23, 2017) regarding the subject undertaking. <br />As the above referenced permit revision does not propose additional surface disturbance, it is <br />our opinion that a finding of no historic properties affected is appropriate for the proposed <br />undertaking pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br />The consultation process does involve other consulting parties such as local governments and <br />"Tribes, which as stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. <br />Additional information provided by the local government, Tribes or other consulting parties <br />mai, cause our office to re-evaluate our comments and recommendations. <br />If previously utudentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, <br />work must be interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated to terms of the National <br />Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
