The Precambrian- <br /> diatreme contact is about one mile north of WCMW 3-134. <br /> It is Newmont's opinion that the marked difference in groundwater chemistry in Arequa Gulch and Wilson <br /> Creek is additional evidence to support the conclusion that historic mining, and milling, are the reason for <br /> the impacted groundwater in Arequa Gulch, because these two drainages are separated by a ridge of <br /> Precambrian rock.
