Newmont-Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine ■ <br /> Technical Specification No.02200-Earthworks ■ <br /> Concentrate Shipping <br /> Project No.475.0106.015 <br /> June 21,2017 <br /> SPECIFICATION 02200- EARTHWORKS <br /> 1. PART 1: GENERAL <br /> 1.1. Summary <br /> This SPECIFICATION describes site preparation for earthwork and placement of Select Structural <br /> Fill for the Concentrate Shipping project. <br /> 1.2. Tolerances <br /> A. Limits of the Select Structural Fill for this project are defined by the lines and elevations <br /> shown on the DRAWINGS. All fill shall be placed to the minimum thicknesses shown on <br /> the DRAWINGS. Payment for the fill placement will be to the lines and elevations shown <br /> on the DRAWINGS and any excess fill placed beyond the lines shown shall be to the <br /> CONTRACTOR's account. <br /> B. Finished grades shown on the DRAWINGS are given in feet, and shall slope uniformly <br /> between given spot and contour elevations, without sag or humps. All grades shall <br /> provide for natural runoff. <br /> C. Correction of over-excavation and backfilling shall be to CONTRACTOR's account. <br /> 1.3. Quality Assurance <br /> A. All CQA soils testing (both field and laboratory testing) will be the responsibility of the <br /> CERTIFYING ENGINEER. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for cooperating with the CQA <br /> Monitor during all testing activities. CONTRACTOR shall provide equipment and labor to <br /> assist the CQA Monitor in sampling, if requested, and shall also provide access to all <br /> areas requiring testing activities. Quality Control testing shall be the responsibility of the <br /> CONTRACTOR and all quality control testing performed by the CONTRACTOR shall be <br /> submitted to the CERTIFYING ENGINEER and OWNER within 24 hour of completion. <br /> B. All excavation, backfill, and grading operations shall be carried out under the <br /> observation of OWNER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> C. Any work found unsatisfactory or any work disturbed by subsequent operations before <br /> acceptance is granted shall be corrected by CONTRACTOR, at its sole cost. <br /> 2. PART 2: PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1. Materials <br /> A. Fill materials will be soils, gravels, or rock fill approved by OWNER and CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER. The materials shall be free of organic matter, debris, frozen material, and <br /> other deleterious materials, and shall be excavated, as required, as follows: <br /> Page 1 <br />
