The compaction equipment shall consist of a minimum ten 10-ton <br /> (static drum weight) vibratory smooth-drum compactor. The number of passes shall <br /> be subject to CERTIFYING ENGINEER's approval, at no additional cost to CC&V. The <br /> method SPECIFICATIONS may be changed at any time, at the discretion of <br /> CERTIFYING ENGINEER, based upon changes in material characteristics, field <br /> conditions, and/or compaction equipment. <br /> S. In areas where fill is being placed above the existing composite liner, geomembrane <br /> liner and soil liner fill, the CONTRACTOR shall not use vibrations for compaction <br /> efforts in the initial 24 inches. <br /> C. During construction, the CQA Monitor shall test all earthwork components to verify <br /> that the construction is in accordance with the SPECIFICATIONS. Testing shall be <br /> performed on all soil used in the construction to confirm the materials meet <br /> SPECIFICATION. The CQA Monitor shall conduct testing after final placement of the <br /> materials. The tests to be performed, and the testing frequency, for each material type <br /> are listed in Tables 1. The testing frequencies specified in Tables 1 shall be increased <br /> when the CQA Monitor determines that construction conditions (such as adverse <br /> weather, equipment breakdown, improperly ballasted compactor, excessive lift <br /> thickness, improper soil type, improper moisture conditioning and compaction) <br /> warrant additional tests.
