Foliations <br />exhibited a strike ranging from 265 degrees to 310 degrees with dips ranging from <br />20 degrees to 40 degrees. Two primary joint sets were evident. The first primary <br />set exhibited an average strike of 242 degrees and average dip of 75 degrees. The <br />second set exhibited an average strike of 77 degrees and average dip of 82 degrees. <br />The top half and bottom quarter were unmappable due to rubble. Iron oxide <br />staining was present. The RMR classification is Poor to Fair. <br /> Section C (Sta. 3+75 to Sta. 6+40) of the scanline trended 350 degrees. Foliations <br />exhibited a strike ranging from 300 degrees to 320 degrees with dips ranging from <br />15 degrees to 45 degrees. Two primary joint sets and one secondary joint set were <br />evident. The first primary set exhibited an average strike of 107 degrees and <br />average dip of 61 degrees. The second primary set exhibited an average strike of <br />7 degrees and average dip of 85 degrees. The secondary set exhibited an average <br />strike of 295 degrees and average dip of 72 degrees. Sta. 4+25 has a pegmatite <br />intrusion near vertical or 80 degrees, approximately 1-foot-wide, with local <br />moderate weathering. The RMR classification is Poor to Fair. <br /> Section D (Sta. 6+40 to Sta. 7+40) of the scanline trended 350 degrees. Foliations <br />exhibited a strike ranging from 10 degrees to 330 degrees with dips ranging from <br />10 degrees to 40 degrees. Two primary joint sets and one secondary joint set were <br />evident. The first primary set exhibited an average strike of 100 degrees and <br />average dip of 65 degrees. The second primary set exhibited an average strike of <br />185 degrees and average dip of 83 degrees. The secondary joint set exhibited an <br />average strike of 300 degrees and an average dip of 78 degrees. A 1- to 2-foot- <br />thick vein of weathered sillimanitic gneiss was located at dip 20 degrees from <br />lower left to right (approximately Sta. 6+00 to Sta. 6+90). A minor section of <br />adversely dipping foliation was present in the upper half of the highwall from Sta. <br />6+90 to 7+40. The RMR classification is Poor to Fair, except for the sillimanitic <br />gneiss. <br /> Section E (Sta. 7+40 to Sta. 8+35) of the scanline trended 80 degrees. Foliations <br />exhibited a strike ranging from 30 degrees to 120 degrees with dips ranging from <br />10 degrees to 20 degrees. Two primary joint sets were evident. The first primary <br />set exhibited an average strike of 250 degrees and average dip of 88 degrees. The <br />second primary set exhibited an average strike of 6 degrees and average dip of <br />85 degrees. Sillimanitic gneiss was present in the upper right corner of the <br />highwall at Sta. 18+35. The RMR classification is Poor to Fair.
