The <br />permit was issued to New Elk Coal Company, LLC, 12250 Highway 12, Weston, CO 81091, (719) <br />631-6141, for their mining operation located in Las Animas County, approximately 25 miles West <br />of Trinidad, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Due to the lack of a U.S. Public Land Survey of the permit area, the legal description of the <br />lands included within the permit area is a metes and bounds description, which is included in <br />Exhibit 34 of the permit.
