MANAGEMENT
June 22, 2017 RLCEIVE®
Clayton Wein JUN 26 2011
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety Division ofRecâ–ºamation,
1313 Sherman St., Room 215 Mining&Safety
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Bowie Resources, LLC, Bowie No. 2 Mine
Technical Revision 113, Revise hydrology of two ditches on top of gob pile#4
Dear Mr. Wein:
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) enclosed is an application for a technical revision to
revise the drainage configuration on top of gob pile #4. This configuration will become the
final configuration and once approved, BRL will begin placing coverfill on the area in
preparation for final reclamation.
In general, making a change to the upper portion of a drainage area affects not only the ditch
that has been revised, but also the ditches and culverts downstream in the network. For this
revision, the location and drainage area of ditch D-7 was revised, and new Ditch F20 was
created.
By making these changes, the following impacts occurred:
Pond D Drainage area: The flow for ditches D-D7, 8, 10, 11, 3, Culvert G3 changed. The
required storage capacity for Pond D decreased.
Pond F Drainage Area: The flow for ditches F3, 8, 4, the East Diversion Ditch changed and new
ditch F-20 was created. The required storage capacity for Pond F increased, but is below the
available storage capacity provided for in the pond design.
A new stability analysis is not required as the maximum height of the pile is less than the
currently approved plan, and the slope angle is at or below the currently approved plan.
No new disturbance has been created, the proposed hydrology revisions are within the
currently approved disturbed area boundary.
