<br />We have reviewed your March 2, 2017 letter requesting renewal of the substitute water
<br />supply plan (“SWSP”) for the Canon City East pit, previously owned by Valco, Inc. (“Valco”)
<br />and conveyed to South Forty Recreation, LLC (“South Forty”), in accordance wit
<br />90-137(11), C.R.S. The required renewal fee of $257 has been paid under receipt no.
<br />3678616. This approval will cover the period June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2019.

<br />PLAN OF OPERATION
<br />
<br />The Canon City East pit was previously operated under a c
<br />the Lamar East Pit and the Rocky Ford East Pit. Valco conveyed the Lamar East Pit to the City
<br />of Lamar, and separated the Rocky Ford East pit from the combined plan due to changes in
<br />the water supply. This SWSP request cov

<br />Previously, Valco was in the process of reclaiming the Canon City East Pit, arranging for
<br />permanent augmentation coverage, and marketing the property. South Forty will now
<br />complete the remaining reclamation of the property from the previous mining activity
<br />will develop a long-term augmentation plan for the site. Accordingly, South Forty seeks a 2
<br />year SWSP approval to finish development of these plans for permanent augmentation.
