PERMIT #: M-1998-105
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJM
INSPECTION DATE: June 6, 2017
OBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection of the Delta Paving Gravel Pit; DRMS File No. M-1998-105, operated
by Grand Junction Pipe and Supply. This site is located 4 miles northeast of Delta, Colorado in Delta County. I,
Stephanie Mitchell of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Mr.
Jon Mueller of Grand Junction Pipe accompanied me on the inspection.
This is a 112c mining operation with a 81.50 acre permit area. 41.7 Acres have been disturbed. The
Mine Identification sign was located at the entrance to the mine site. All activity is within the permit
boundaries.
Topsoil is located in the southwest corner of the permit area. There were several material stockpiles
and are stable.
A loader and a scale house were on site. Two areas that have been mined out are currently ponds and
have the appropriate permits with the Division of Water Resources. Fuel is being stored with adequate
secondary containment.
The Financial Warranty currently held by the Division is $69,581.00 and is sufficient at this time.
There were little or no weeds present at the site.
All other activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to follow the guidelines and
regulations set forth by the state and in the mining and reclamation plans for the pit.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand
Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number (970) 242-5025.
