RE:First Quarter,2017 Water Quality Sampling Results
May Day Idaho Mine Complex
Dear Mr. West,
The May Day Idaho Mine Complex completed the 2017 first quarter surface and groundwater sampling
on April 271h and 281h due to the fact many of the sampling points could not be sampled early because of
the heavy snow pack. On several occasions during the first quarter the site was visited in anticipation of
collecting the samples within the first 3 months of 2017. Snow depths as recently as the third week of
March exceeded 5 feet.
Groundwater wells located at the May Day No. 1 and No.2 have dedicated pumps installed which
required the mobilization of large generator to take a representative sample. Our field vehicles could gain
access to take a sample. lu addition the surface water sampling point located on Upper Little Deadwood
Gulch was not achievable due to snow depths and fallen trees across the access road.
The attached laboratory results constitute our best effort to obtain our first quarter sampling event. Our
second quarterly compliance sample will be obtained in June.
