The area described contains 3,868.94 acres, more or less.
The principal location of the operation is: T.1 S., R.98W., Sections 22-27. The
original access road crossed portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36 of T.1 S., R.98W;
Section 31 of T.1 S., R.97W.; and Section 6 of T.2S., R.97W. This road is now Rio
Blanco County Road (C.R.) 31. Figure 2-1 shows the four sodium lease tracts and
affected areas from project development. Figure 2-2 is a detailed well location map
of the Mine Area.7 When required, Natural Soda installs wells off-lease to more
effectively mine the nahcolite within their sodium leases. These off-lease and
locations and surface hole locations are within '/ mile of the lease boundary. The
Quarter Mile Off-Lease Permit Boundary was added to accommodate off-lease
surface hole locations.8
