6RT, 7RT, 2MN, and SWMD Thickener Underflow Borehole and Pipeline Installations (TR09-06, TR16-86, <br />MR10-242, MR10-248, MR13-270, and MR13-273) _The proposed 6RT, 7RT, and a portion of one of one of the <br />SWMD drill -pads, and portions of the associated roads are in areas that have previously been disturbed by County <br />road construction, railroad construction, or other previous activities. It is unknown whether soil materials were <br />salvaged and replaced in these areas, however, in most cases a reestablished sagebrush -meadow vegetation <br />comnumity exists over most of the proposed pad, road, and pipeline areas. The corridors for the proposed thickener <br />underflow pipelines also cross previously disturbed areas, existing disturbance areas (mine facilities and railroad <br />construction), and newly disturbed areas. The 2MN and proposed SWMD drill -pads and roads are in areas <br />previously disturbed by mining -related activities, however, some soil materials remain in these areas. For the drill - <br />pads, and associated pipelines and roads, available soil materials will be salvaged and stockpiled for use in site <br />reclamation. Small temporary soil stockpiles will be established adjacent to the pad areas and roads for any limited <br />soil (estimated at approximately 300 cy at each site) that may be recovered from the borehole pads and roads. <br />19RT Mine Dewatering Borehole and Pipeline - Given the proximity of existing ranch roads, TCC does not plan <br />or anticipate the need for new road construction to access the 19RT Dewatering Borehole drill -site. With dry <br />ground conditions, drilling equipment and supplies should be able to travel the short distance overland from the <br />existing roads to the drill -site, without significant surface disturbance. Both the shaft pad and pipeline corridor are <br />located in an upland areas. For both the shaft pad, and along the 6,200 -foot pipeline corridor, construction will <br />involve removal of any large vegetation and stripping and stockpiling of other vegetation, soil, and organic <br />materials. Given an average soil depth of approximately 6 inches in the upland areas, a pad area of approximately <br />0.35 acres, and a total pipeline disturbance area of approximately 7.2 acres, approximately 300 cubic yards of soil <br />material will be salvaged from the pad area, and 5,750 cubic yards from the pipeline corridor. Soil from the <br />pipeline corridor will be removed and windrowed along one side of the pipeline corridor, and soil from the pad area <br />will be placed in a stockpile within the borehole pad for future reclamation use. The soil salvage volumes are <br />indicated on Table 49A. Natural vegetative materials (mulch) incorporated into the topsoil, and seeding with the <br />topsoil stockpile stabilization seed mixture, identified on page 2.05-121, will stabilize and protect the stockpiled <br />soil materials. <br />15RT Ventilation Shaft (TR11-77) - An existing two -track road extends from the Fish Creek Water Treatment <br />Facility road to the proposed shaft site, however, it does not appear that any soil material was salvaged from the <br />road corridor. Therefore, for both the light -use road and shaft pad, construction will involve removal of any large <br />vegetation and stripping and stockpiling of other vegetation, soil, and organic materials. TC will recover and <br />salvage a maxinruun of 18 inches of soil from the road and pad areas. With a pad area of approximately 1.6 acres, <br />and a road corridor of approximately 0.7 acres, a maximum volume of approximately 5,600 cubic yards of soil <br />material will be salvaged and placed in stockpile for future use in reclaiming the site. A temporary soil stockpile <br />will be established on the east end of the pad area, natural drainage will be diverted around the stockpile by a short <br />diversion ditch, and the natural vegetative materials incorporated into the soil, and seeding with the topsoil <br />stockpile stabilization seed mixture, will stabilize and protect the stockpiled soil materials.. Soil salvage volumes <br />are indicated on Table 49A. <br />16LT Utility Borehole (TR11-78) — The associated light -Use road follows an existing two -track ranch road for part <br />of its length, however, it does not appear that any soil material was salvaged from the road corridor. Therefore, for <br />both the light -use road and borehole pad, construction will involve removal of any large vegetation and stripping <br />and stockpiling of other vegetation, soil, and organic materials. The road is located near the top of a ridgeline <br />where soil development is limited, so TC will recover and salvage a maximum of 12 inches of soil from the road <br />and pad areas. With a pad area of approximately 2.2 acres, and a road corridor of approximately 6.1 acres, a <br />maximum volume of approximately 10.900 cubic yards of soil material will be salvaged and placed in stockpile for <br />future use in reclaiming the site. A temporary soil stockpile(s) will be established on the east end of the pad area <br />adjacent to the road, where natural drainage will route around the stockpile(s) due to the existing natural drainage <br />configuration, and the natural vegetative materials incorporated into the soil, and seeding with the topsoil stockpile <br />stabilization seed mixture, will stabilize and protect the stockpiled soil materials.. Soil salvage volumes are <br />indicated on Table 49A. <br />5MN Borehole and Pipelines (MR14-283, MR15-288) — Construction of the light -use road and pad for the 5MN <br />Cement Borehole will involve removal of any large vegetation and stripping and stockpiling of other vegetation, <br />soil. and organic materials.
