MANAGEMENT
Clayton Wein
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215 RECENED
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Bowie Resources, LLC, Bowie No. 2 Mine MAY 16 2011
TR -112, Oxbow Drilling lamaOri,
Permit C-1996-083 Division °f Rec
NA,n;ng &Safety
Dear Mr. Wein:
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL), enclosed is a technical revision application to provide
for drilling of up to four holes for the purposes explained below.
In 2015, Oxbow Mining LLC and Bowie Resource Partners, LLC entered an agreement which
allows Oxbow Mining, LLC to extract Coal Bed Methane from the existing mine workings from the
D and B seam workings of the Bowie #2 underground mine.
Before sealing the portals of the mine, BRL installed a set of seals underground in order to
isolate the western longwall districts from equipment recovery activities. BRL personnel were
unable to open pipes in the seals, which would have enabled pressure equalization across the
set of seals. Oxbow proposes to remotely remove at least one seal in the set of seals, which
would allow pressure equalization across the set of seals. The seal in number five entry is the
designated initial target and would be drilled vertically with directional assistance. The seal in
number four entry is a secondary target and would be drilled directionally.
Oxbow proposes to drill up to four seal removal holes, to be drilled from the surface, into or
around the targeted seal. The first hole is to be an observation test hole. The next three holes
are to be drilled to intersect the seal. If the first is not successful, up to two more holes will be
drilled to intersect the seal. All holes will be drilled from the existing and unreclaimed pad that
was created, by BRL to drill exploration hole TC -03-01. Oxbow Mining, LLC does not propose
new or additional disturbance to the TC -03-01 pad at this time.
Sincerely,
J. F. Sfmer
1. E.
